We spent part of this weekend in a pet store. I couldn't resist taking the kids in to look at all the puppies ( is there ANYTHING cuter? ) while we waited for my husband to get his haircut in the shop next door.

Since we don't have a dog, the kids were so excited and begging for a puppy, as you can imagine, the rest of the weekend. Let me put it this way, when we got home that evening the 2 eldest ( 7 and 5 ) spent over an hour...an HOUR...putting together a puppy show for us in the basement. They actually built a mini stage out of our furniture, gathered all their stuffed dogs and even a little lamb to put on a show for us. Fun!

To put it mildly, the kids would love a pet. We did get our son two beta fish last year and he was even thrilled with that. Elizabeth became someone he would run up and check on each day after school. Love knows no bounds when it comes to a child's pet, whether it is a fish, cat, dog or something else.

As a child they know they are constantly taken care of by their parents, but a pet gives them something to love as their own and take care of themselves. The feeling of pride they have over this responsibility is fun to watch as a mom.

Well, thanks to Kroger and Global Influence Network, I had the privilege to receive a $20 Kroger Gift Card in honor of National Kids and Pet Day today, April 26th! They have also given me an additional $20 Kroger Gift Card ( good at all their family of stores ) to give away to one of my lucky readers. This extra money could come in handy to help pay for needed pet purchases. :)

The dinner was great. I often fear that the menu items from the "lowfat" section on menus will not be filling, but this definitely was. And, it was very tasty!

Review - General Mills Cereals - Lower Sugar!

Recently, My Blog Spark sent me 4 coupons in the mail for Free General Mills Cereal! They had told me about the new lower sugar option in kids cereal, so I used these coupons to get my children their favorite cereals and give them a try.

And, what did I choose? 2 Boxes of Cinnamon Toast Crunch and 2 Boxes of Trix. The kids couldn't get enough of them.

Here are some facts on their lower sugar announcment:
